Social network users treat Kadyrov's words about election as a threat
Ramzan Kadyrov has stated that he would not participate in the upcoming election, if at least "a few percent of the population" opposed his candidacy. Those who fail to support Kadyrov's nomination will face persecution or reprisals, Instagram users have suggested.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2016, Kadyrov was elected for his third term as the head of Chechnya, having won, according to official data, 97% of the votes. His chances to be re-elected in 2021 are high, as the Kremlin continues treating him favourably, experts believe.
Kadyrov has stated that he had not yet decided whether he would run for the post at the coming September election, the "Grozny-Inform" reports. According to his statement, if even a few percent of the population votes against his candidacy, he will not nominate.
Let us remind you that on May 17, Kadyrov threatened to liquidate the Instagram user who had called him a shaitan. It turned out to be a 15-year-old teenager from Dagestan who lives in the Moscow Region, who had left such a comment; his father and other relatives have already apologized for the poor upbringing of the teen.
