Abkhaz activist Djansukh Adleiba claims his readiness to go on dry hunger strike

The number of participants of the hunger strike declared in Sukhumi by Djansukh Adleiba has grown up to three. During the five days of the protest action, more than 10,000 people signed a demand to lower the price of gasoline in Abkhazia, the activist has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 22, Djansukh Adleiba went on a hunger strike in Sukhumi demanding to reduce fuel prices and prevent the transfer of Abkhaz lands to Russia. On the same day, Vadim Markholiya, a veteran of the 1992 war, joined the hunger strike.

On July 25, the number of hunger-strikers increased up to three persons. As explained by Adleiba, Daur Gunba, a disabled veteran of the 1992-1993 war, has joined the action. The hunger-strikers are all the time in the square without going home, the activist gas added.

According to Adleiba, authorities pay no attention to the hunger strike, but the protesters are supported by local residents. According to his story, the authorities, who had promised to fulfil activists' demands, have deceived them.

Let us remind you that earlier, since June 13, Djansukh Adleiba held a hunger strike demanding from the Abkhaz government to reduce the price of motor fuels.
