Two residents of Chechnya publicly apologize for traffic accident

Chechen policemen have posted a video of an apology from a participant in the road accident and an eyewitness who released a record of the accident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Chechen law enforcers regularly publicly reprimand residents of the republic for various actions, including violations of traffic rules. Thus, in April 2021, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (known as GIBDD) distributed a video in which four residents of Urus-Martan apologized for violating traffic rules.

"Every road user must understand that it is forbidden not only to violate the traffic rules, but also to post them in social networks, since this ... provokes some drivers to follow the example of dangerous driving, which they will strive for the sake of ratings," a police inspector said in a video posted in the GIBDD’s page in the “VKontakte” social network.

Conducting prophylactic talks does not contradict the Russian legislation, but information about this can only be posted with the offender’s consent, said Evgeny Chernousov, a lawyer.
