Fact-finding group on March 1 events: policeman's death needs new examination

The fact-finding group about the events on March 1, 2008, in Yerevan believes that the materials of the criminal case dealing with death of police officer Hamlet Tadevosyan have obvious contradictions and violations of the law. In particular, repeated complex technical and medical examinations are required with participation of international experts.

The first published report of the group, which was presented for consideration of the temporary parliamentary commission for studying the events on March 1, 2008, states that during investigation the investigatory group had made certain violations of the law. As a result of them, in particular, Tadevosyan's armoured jacket disappeared from the materials of the case. Besides, the materials of investigation have contradictory data about the presence of fragments in the casualty's footwear.

According to the fact-finding group, expert's conclusions are not always justified, full answers to inspectors' questions were not given; and it all had restricted the investigation's chances to consider all possible versions of Tadevosyan's death.
