Georgian opposition cancelled daily meetings in Tbilisi
Georgian opposition is not going to hold daily meetings in front of the parliament building, noted Levan Gachechiladze, one of the leaders of opposition and the "Defend Georgia" movement, at the July 24 meeting.
Gachechiladze called on the companions-in-arms no to lose hope because opposition would hold continuous actions. According to him, cancellation of the daily meetings does not mean that opposition stops protests. Gachechiladze explained that, on the contrary, the protests would become stronger, reports "Gazeta.Ru".
The opposition leader also stated that he was not going to take part in any unfair elections proposed by the authorities, namely, in the election of local self-government bodies or the election of Tbilisi mayor, notes "Interfax".
Gachechiladze also touched upon his meeting with US vice-president Joseph Biden. According to him, when the second highest ranking official of a huge country meets with representatives of radical opposition holding actions in the street it promises a great progress.
