Yamadaevs: gunman's bullet bypassed Isa in Moscow

The representative of the Yamadaev family in the Chechen Republic has confirmed that in Moscow an attempt was made on Isa Yamadaev, brother of Sulim Yamadaev, former commander of the "Vostok" special-purpose GRU battalion; however, the relatives gave no details of the incident. A source in Chechen power agencies has noted that there was no attempt; but Isa wanted by making this statement to damage the reputation of Ramzan Kadyrov, President of the Chechen Republic.

"On July 28, Isa was shot at in Moscow. But he is safe, and the killer was detained. It happened in the flat where Isa lives, but we don't know any details yet," a family member said by telephone to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, the Yamadaevs are sure that "the murder of Khalid (Ruslan, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot"), the attempt on Sulim in Dubai this March, and now the attempt on Isa," were organized by the authorities of the Chechen Republic and Ramzan Kadyrov's.

He has added that the Yamadaevs had reliable information that killers had been sent to Moscow to liquidate Isa: "For this very reason Isa had addressed the Director of the FSB and other agencies asking them to ensure his safety."

A spokesman from law enforcement bodies of the Chechen Republic has expressed his doubt that someone had really attempted on Isa Yamadaev. "I think that Isa Yamadaev just wants to make a sort of a PR-action," he said in his talk with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "He looks like having persecution mania. His disinformation has one aim only: to blacken the president of our republic Ramzan Kadyrov and undermine his authority and image."

A source in law enforcement bodies of Moscow has also denied the information on the attempt on Isa Yamadaev, having assumed that "most likely, this is a disinformation attempt."
