President of Chechnya imputes Sadulayeva's murder to blood feud

President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov said that, according to the authorities, the husband of the murdered Chechen human rights defender Zarema Sadulayeva, had earlier been a member of illegal armed formations (IAFs), which could be the motive of the double murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zarema Sadulayeva and her husband Alik Dzhabrailov were forced away from their office in Grozny by a group of armed persons dressed in uniform and civil clothes. Today in the morning their bodies with plural gunshot wounds were found in the luggage compartment of their car, left in the Zavodskoy District of Grozny.

"As I was informed, the husband of this woman had been convicted to four years in prison for participation in IAFs and received early relief. Possibly, when among militants, he could be involved in killing Chechens; therefore, this crime could have blood feud as a motive," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes Mr Kadyrov as saying.

The "Echo Moskvy" reports that President of Chechnya has added that references about Sadulayeva were very good; in his opinion, there were no reasons to kill Zarema Sadulayeva.

"This woman was just helping people - children, invalids," Ramzan Kadyrov has noted and added: "While Estemirova was engaged in human rights activity, misled the society and often wrote lies, in this case I can't explain the murder of this woman."

The "Lenta.ru" writes that according President Kadyrov the activities human rights and public organizations are a great support to the Chechen authorities.

Kadyrov was deeply indignant with the murder of the employees of the NGO "Let's Save the Generation" and promised that power agents will take "exhaustive measures" to open this crime.

So far, Chechen power agents have no particular versions of the kidnapping and subsequent murder of the leader of the NGO "Let's Save the Generation" and her husband Alik. Initially, law enforcers refused to admit the fact of Sadulayeva's and Dzhabrailov's kidnapping, saying that they, allegedly, had voluntarily got into the car. Meanwhile, the casualties' colleagues are sure that this crime has to do with the work of public activists in the republic.
