DFSB for Dagestan: leader of Makhachkala militants liquidated

One of the casualties of the special operation conducted today in the morning in Makhachkala is Bagautdin Kamalutdinov, leader of the armed underground acting in the city and nephew of Magomed Bagautdinov, ideologist of Dagestan militants. This was reported by the Department of the FSB (DFSB) for Dagestan.

At about 6:00 a.m., law enforcers blocked a house on a suburb of Makhachkala; then, a skirmish burst out, and the four persons blocked in the house were killed.

As reported by the DFSB, Bagautdin Kamalutdinov was in international search. Other casualties are now identified, a woman among them, as the ITAR-TASS reports.

According to the DFSB, the group, liquidated during the special operation, was involved in the murder on September 11 of Deputy Public Prosecutor of Makhachkala Maksud Maksudov and in the attack on militiamen in Kizil-Yurt, the "Interfax" reports.
