Data on victims of terror act in Chechnya is contradictory
The information about the terror committed today before afternoon in the centre of the capital of Chechnya remains contradictory. According to some sources, two militiamen were killed by the explosion, by other ones - some six-eight persons suffered.
According to the data provided by local law enforcement bodies, the explosion was executed by a woman of middle age dressed in black clothes.
"At about 10:30 a.m., a woman approached a local road police patrol car, model "Lada-Priora", with several militiamen inside, which was parked in the crossing of the Mira Street and Putin Avenue. She touched the door of the car and triggered the bomb, fixed to her body. After the explosion, the car was in fire and completely burnt down," an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to the source, the explosion wounded two militiamen and some passengers of a fixed-rout "Gazel" minibus, which happened to pass by. The woman-suicide bomber was torn into pieces.
According to other sources, two militiamen were killed by the explosion. The suicide bomber was not identified.
Meanwhile, residents of the Chechen capital are actively discussing the incident. People are scared; they cannot understand the logic of terrorists. "If you want to war, do it, as much as you wish; but do it outside towns and villages. Let alone peaceful people! What at all happens here, if people blow up themselves in streets? Do they really they really think that they'll get to paradise, if they kill a militiaman?" Dagmara Saidova, a resident of Grozny is bewildered. In her opinion, terror acts are inspired by Arabs and people coming from other regions of Russia.
"I can't accept terror and violence, whoever is practicing them," said a local resident Solsbek by name. He believes that terrorists-suicide bombers appeared "not in an empty place" and asserts that the terror against employees of power agencies is provoked by power agents themselves by their own violence against the local population.
