Astrakhan hosts a non-sanctioned action of the opposition
On October 22, the Astrakhan Regional Duma held an expanded sitting initiated by the faction of the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" Party to discuss the situation in the city after election of the city Mayor. At the same time, in the Savushkina Street the opposition held their non-sanctioned action.
"We've watched the film created on the materials of the passed elections (film "Criminal Mutiny", - comment of the "Caucasian Knot") and adopted a resolution," said Mr Kamanin. He announced the main points of the document: to form a commission of deputy's investigation for checking the information about faked outcomes of election of Astrakhan Mayor; to approve its staff of 13 deputies; to adopt an appeal to Russian President Medvedev, which will be sent to him after analysis of the outcomes of the investigation.
On that very day, a non-sanctioned action of the opposition took place in the alley of the Savushkina Street. The people formed a line of 300 meters long; more than 200 persons came; they were holding ribbons in their hands.
"The city administration arrived, and through a megaphone demanded to disperse," Alexander Alymov, head of the youth movement "Reference Point", told about the action. "Militiamen also appeared and asked us to finish the action in order to avoid conflicts."
According to Evgeniy Lukovtsev, head of the PR division of the Astrakhan GUVD, "the militia is absolutely neutral to these actions, as never interferes with the politics."
"We don't like when such actions are held with violation of the law," said Mr Lukovtsev. "That is, when a person applies to hold a meeting with voters, but instead his people go out with posters and headers and start a rally, where plenty of invitees speak."
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent tried to interview Mayor of Astrakhan Sergey Bozhenov. His reception office refused to organize it, saying that "Sergey Anatolievich does not act now as the Mayor."
