Dagestan: election results cancelled in Derbent
Today, the City Court of Derbent has nullified the protocols of election of the city Mayor, held on October 11, for all local electoral commissions and the total protocol of the territorial electoral commission of the city of Derbent.
Let us remind you that the incumbent head of Derbent Felix Kaziakhmedov, member of the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party, was elected the Mayor with 67 percent of votes; however, the other candidates, who lost the election, demanded cancellation of the results, since on the voting day more than a third of polling stations remained closed.
According to the city court, in the course of the trial about two hundred witnesses were interrogated and evidenced the facts of numerous violations during the voting, as the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
