Khadyzhensk
In Apsheron rayon (sector) of Krasnodar kray (region), 113 km south-east of Krasnodar. Located on foothills of the Greater Caucasus, in a forest tract, on the Pshish River, 6 km from the railway station of Khadyzhenskaya in the Tuapse - Armavir line. Motor road junction. Population (1992 est.) 19.1 thousand, (1939 est.) 8.5 thousand, (1959 est.) 17.6 thousand, (1979 est.) 20.2 thousand.
Town since 1949. Present Khadyzhensk has a machine works, an integrated forest mill. It also has a balneal resort. Winter is mild, with a steady snow cover in February; the temperature in January averages to -1.7?С; heavy rainfall and snowfall. Summer is hot, July temperature averages to 23?С. The main natural medical factor is sodium chloride mineral water with iodine and bromine (bottled under the trademark of Khadyzhenskaya). Sanatoriums-preventoriums, a resort polyclinic, a balneary.
The area of Khadyzhensk has petroleum production and forest exploitation.
