The court obliged the Ministry of Defense to pay half a million rubles for the loss of a woman soldier in Chechnya

Urus-Martan city court in Chechnya obliged the Ministry of Defense to pay 500 thousand rubles for the loss of a woman soldier in Chechnya. According to the judgment, the victim's mother will receive the money as a compensation for moral damage.

Press service of the republican Public prosecutor's office reported that the action was filed by the woman's mother against the military unit and federal budget institution "Department of Financial Provision of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in Nizhny Novgorod region". It appears from the materials of the case that the plaintiff's daughter was on a contract service in a military unit and was killed by one of her colleagues as a result of violation of the rules of treating arms.

The court took into consideration that according to federal law "On the status of the servicemen", the commanders are "responsible for military discipline, law and order, moral and psychological state of their subordinate personnel and security of service". In the opinion of the court, the defendant failed to provide security of service and proper control of the servicemen which resulted in a loss of a soldier.

Urus-Martan city court granted the claim in part, i.e. exacted 500 thousand rubles as a compensation to the plaintiff.

The defendant disagreed with the judgment and filed an appeal to the appellate court. However, the judicial board on civil cases of the Supreme Court of Chechen Republic brought a standing judgment and did not grant the defendant's appeal after which the judgment came into effect, IA "Grozny-Inform" reports.
