Abbasov, Namik Rashid ogly

Namik Abbasov was born in 1940. Graduated from Azerbaijan State University (named after S.M. Kirov) in 1962. In 1962-1976, worked as department head, secretary-in-chief, vice director, and director of Apsheron newspaper. Transferred to the Party apparatus in 1970. Worked as department head and second secretary of Apsheron region committee of the Communist Party of AzSSR (Azerbaijani Soviet Socialist Republic). In KGB since 1977. Graduated from USSR KGB Higher School in 1979. Was a deputy department head, department head, and deputy chairman in AzSSR KGB. In 1992-1994, was deputy and first deputy of National Security Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In October 1994, appointed National Security Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, lieutenant general. Resigned, but was reappointed the National Security Minister on October 27, 1998. Married, two children, grandchildren.
