Magomedov: Gimry residents can return home after power agents settle there
The decision to set up a permanent operative group of power agents in the Dagestani village of Gimry was made after a meeting of the Government Commission and a group of local residents. Once this group is deployed in the village, residents will be able to return to their homes, said the head of the village administration Aliaskhab Magomedov.
"The meeting on April 19 in the conference hall of the administrative building was attended by 30-35 Gimry villagers and representatives from the law enforcers involved in the special operation in Gimry," Aliaskhab Magomedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
A permanent group of additional law enforcement forces will be deployed in the village. "They will work together with the staff of the village police unit – some 50-60 persons in total. Now, we're looking for a place to accommodate them all. When the issue is settled, the local people will be allowed to return to their homes," said Magomedov.
According to Magomedov, the village will be under curfew and special permit regime. "All the visitors to the village will be checked: they will be asked to present documents, state the purpose of the visit and indicate the person to whom they go. All this was discussed at the meeting," said the head of the village.
If armed forces stay in the village after its population comes back, "conflicts are inevitable," Aminat Gazieva, a resident of Gimry, is sure.
