Near Chechen-Ingush administrative border law enforcers search for organizers of terror act in Sernovodsk

Chechen law enforcers carry out an operation to search for members of the armed underground in the border with Ingushetia in the Sunzha District of Chechnya, where the terror act was committed on September 16. This was reported by the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya. The police claim the existing danger of a new terror act.

At night of September 16, in the village of Sernovodsk of the Sunzha District of Chechnya, a suicide bomber drove on a mine-stubbed VAZ-21115 car and tried to enter the territory of the ROVD (District Interior Division). Policemen on duty at the post managed to activate a barrage pin, and the car exploded at the gate of the ROVD. The explosion killed three policemen. Four other policemen got injuries of varying severity.

On September 16, after the suicide bombing in the village of Sernovodsk, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the district.

"The operation is being carried out in a wooded area of the Sunzha District and the adjacent territory, where members of the criminal grouping led by Beslan Makhauri can hide. The suicide bomber who blew himself up near the ROVD building in the village of Sernovodsk could be a member of the above criminal grouping," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by a representative of the Chechen law enforcement bodies.
