Pechyonova: Communists have no time to nominate candidate for governor of Volgograd Region
Communists will not nominate their candidate for the governor of the Volgograd Region at the upcoming election instead of Nikolai Parshin, suspected of a fraud, because they have no time to submit the required documents. This was stated by Ekaterina Pechyonova, the head of the press service of the Stalingrad Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF). Alexei Burov, the Secretary of the above CPRF Committee, explained that at the moment his organization has no candidate to be nominated to the post of the governor.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) had suspected Nikolai Parshin, the First Secretary of the Stalingrad CPRF Committee, of involvement in a resale of an abandoned building of a rural school. On Friday, the MPs of the State Duma voted to strip the parliamentary immunity from Parshin and gave consent to attract the Communist as a defendant.
Parshin did not officially put forward his candidature, said Gennady Shaikhullin, the chairman of the election commission of the Volgograd Region.
According to Alexei Burov, under these circumstances, Parshin, following the recommendation of his comrades, including the members of the party bureau, withdrew his candidacy from the governor race.
Let us remind you that the post of the governor became vacant after on April 2 Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Sergey Bozhenov from the post.
