NAC: leader of Makhachkala armed grouping killed in Dagestan
Late at night on December 9, in Makhachkala, policemen shot dead a suspected militant, who was identified as Ruslan Darsamov, the leader of the Makhachkala armed grouping, who was involved in killings of law enforcers and civilians, said the press centre of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) of the Russian Federation.
According to the police, at the intersection of I. Shamil and A. Akushinsky Avenues, armed man rendered armed resistance to law enforcers and was killed by return fire. The casualty was pre-identified as Ruslan Darsamov, also known as "Usman".
According to the NAC's operative headquarters, he was the leader of the so-called "Makhachkala" grouping and was involved in numerous robberies, extortions of large sums of money from businessmen, killings of law enforcers and civilians, as well as blowing up of improvised explosive devices," states the message of the NAC's press centre, adding that "there were no losses among law enforcers and civilians."
