In Chechnya, house of Aslambek Vadalov family ruined by bulldozers
At night on December 21, the house of the family of the Chechen field commander Aslambek Vadalov in the village of Ishkhoy-Yurt, Gudermes District of Chechnya, was demolished by power agents with the help of bulldozers, local residents report.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to the HRC "Memorial" that as of December 23, in Chechnya, the power agents destroyed 15 houses of militants' relatives. Among the destroyed buildings they mentioned the abandoned house of Masara Vadalova, one of whose sons, Aslambek, had joined the armed underground.
On December 5, Ramzan Kadyrov held a meeting, during which he announced the introduction of the principle of collective responsibility of families of members of the armed underground. The head of Chechnya said that militants' relatives will be expelled from the republic, and their houses will be demolished. Kadyrov made this statement after militants’ attack on Grozny on December 4. The fight resulted in 11 killed members of the armed underground and 14 lost power agents; other 36 law enforcers were wounded.
"At night on December 21, in our village, military demolished the Vadalov family house. One of their sons, Aslambek, is a field commander and is wanted. Their house was demolished by bulldozers," a local resident told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on condition of anonymity.
The Vadalov family had many children; but only one of five brothers, Aslambek, was an active participant in hostilities against federal forces, said another villager of Ishkhoy-Yurt, who introduced himself as Sultan.
