Chechen leader's announced readiness to resign is just a show

On April 30, in his interview to the "Moscow Speaking", Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed his willingness to "be happy to leave power" and step down as the leader of Chechnya.

Let us remind you that Ramzan Kadyrov has announced his willingness to resign his post of the leader of Chechnya soon after the conflict with the law enforcement bodies that developed after Djambulat Dadaev was killed in Grozny on April 19.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 19, Djambulat Dadaev, who was on the federal wanted list, was shot dead in Grozny. On April 21, the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov criticized the actions of Stavropol operative agents, stating that nobody shell have the right to conduct special operations in the territory of Chechnya without the consent of local authorities. He also allowed his power agents to open fire to kill at participants of uncoordinated special operations. On April 23, the Russian MIA treated these words as unacceptable.

The statement of the leader of Chechnya on his willingness to resign is nothing else but a beautiful way to show his close relationship with the Russian President and inform law enforcers that in case of any of their statements, they will not address issues concerning Ramzan Kadyrov. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Alexei Malashenko, a member of the Scientific Council of the Moscow Carnegie Centre.

"I am in personal contact with Vladimir Vladimirovich, and I will resign not because I've violated the Constitution, but if he says I am to resign. He is my patron, and I am his client," Alexei Malashenko hears such a subtext behind the Ramzan Kadyrov's statement on his resignation.

When commenting on the Ramzan Kadyrov's statement concerning permission to open fire on "other" law enforcers, the expert did not rule out that such words were the result of an emotional breakdown of the Chechen leader. "He obviously did not think such words still could not be used in such an easy way. Perhaps, the incident was reported to him in such a way that he was allegedly offended, and he had responded to that," Alexei Malashenko has suggested.

Kadyrov’s statement about his resignation was made because it "met requirements of the moment", says Akhmet Yarlykapov, senior researcher of the Centre of ethnopolitical studies at the Institute of ethnology and anthropology.

"He said the same things during previous crisis situation comparing himself and Putin with infantryman and Commander-in-Chief", the expert told the "Caucasian Knot".
