Large cache with weapons and ammunition liquidated in Chechnya

Power agents detected a cache in the vicinity of Argun and found there an antitank missile launcher, a Kalashnikov submachine gun, rounds for a grenade launcher, shells and bullets of various calibres.

The disguised militants' cache was discovered near the city of Argun, in the territory of the state farm "Moskovsky" in the course of a check of operative information.

"The cache contained a 'Fagot'-type anti-tank missile weapon (known as PTUR), several rounds to a BMP (infantry fighting vehicle) automatic cannon, 40 grenade launcher rounds, a Kalashnikov submachine gun, more than 1300 rounds of ammunition to various-calibre automatic firearms, a night vision device, a 200-gram TNT block, and several grenade launcher rounds," a source from the republic's MIA told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. He said that the weapons were handed over for examination. It is assumed that the cache was equipped by militants a few years ago.

"Currently, measures are being taken to identify those involved in making the cache," said the source.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on April 5 a militants' hideout was found in the Gudermes District of Chechnya, which contained weapons, ammunition and military uniforms.
