Azerbaijani woman suspected of committing terror act in Turkey

The Turkish authorities are searching for Ulker Mamedova, a citizen of Azerbaijan, who may be involved in the terror act in Ankara, which killed 102 people. The information has been confirmed by the Azerbaijani General Consul in Istanbul.

The General Consulate of Azerbaijan in Turkey has made a request for Ulker Mamedova after on October 15, the Turkish authorities published the names and photos of 21 persons suspected of committing the terror act. This was reported by the "Vesti.az" with reference to Turkish media.

On October 16, Gasan Zeinalov, General Consul of Azerbaijan, confirmed that wanted Ulker Mamedova is a citizen of Azerbaijan. According to the General Consul, the woman has been living in Turkey for a long time, the news agency "APA" reports.

As far as her possible involvement in the terror act is concerned, the General Consulate of Azerbaijan has not received the confirmation of the information from the law enforcement bodies of Turkey.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 17, it was reported on the detention of five citizens of Azerbaijan, including Namig Guliev, Talekh Akhmedov, Khalid Gadjiverdiev, Elvin Askerov, and Anar Makhmudov. According to investigators, in 2012-2015, they took part in the combat actions in the territories of Iraq and Syria in the ranks of the illegal armed formations (IAFs), including the "Islamic State" (IS).
