HRC "Memorial" reports on kidnapping of Musliev brothers in Argun

Relatives of Musliev brothers – 34-year-old Ismail and 25-year-old Iskhaq – cannot locate them since October 28. This has been reported today by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 2, the Chechen State Radio and TV Company (ChSRTC) "Grozny" announced the prevention of an assassination attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov plotted by the young men from the town of Argun. In front of the TV cameras, Ramzan Kadyrov himself had a conversation with residents of Argun, who, according to him, fell victims to the extremist propaganda. A source from the law enforcement bodies has reported that all the detainees were released without any charges.

According to the HRC "Memorial", at night of October 28, "armed men in masks and black uniforms of special forces fighters broke into" the house of the Musliev family.

"They did not present any IDs or other documents, but forced all family members to lie on the floor. Then, they took Ismail and Iskhaq away with them to some unknown destination," states the press release of the HRC "Memorial", received today by the "Caucasian Knot".

According to human rights defenders, on November 2, the local "Grozny" TV Channel showed the story, in which Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov talked to several young men, including Iskhaq Musliev.

"At the end of the story, Kadyrov has said that he forgives all young men and that all of them will go home. And all the men from the TV story, except Iskhaq, have returned home. The fate of his brother Ismail is also unknown," states the press release disseminated by the HRC "Memorial".
