Suspected militant killed in Nalchik

In Nalchik, a resident of Baksan was shot dead during a shootout; another resident of the city was detained. None of the police officers was injured, said a law enforcement source of Kabardino-Balkaria.

According to his story, the incident occurred in the evening on December 14 at the intersection of Chernyshevsky and Osipenko Streets in Nalchik.

"Last night in the city of Nalchik two suspicious persons were stopped for inspection; but they opened fire on power agents. As a result, one of them was shot dead, the other was taken into custody," the TASS quotes the source.

According to the source, it was established that "the killed resident of Baksan, born in 1990, was a financier of the armed underground and was wanted for extortion", the RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria” reports.
