Experts: control over "Rosneft" to strengthen Kadyrov's regime

Thanks to obtaining control over the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Chechenneftekhimprom", Chechen authorities will get a new source of income; however, these funds will be used primarily to strengthen the regime of Ramzan Kadyrov in the republic, said the experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

Let us remind you that on December 24 the "Kommersant" reported that Vladimir Putin had instructed the Russian government to support Ramzan Kadyrov's request on the transfer of the "Chechenneftekhimprom", currently run by the "Rosneft", to Chechnya.

Due to this transfer, Chechnya will get new sources of funding, Natalia Zubarevich, Regional Programme Director of the Independent Institute of Social Policies, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. She is sure that thus obtained funds will be used not for the proper purpose.

"The transfer of the above company means an increase of Kadyrov's resource base, but in no way it indicates an increase of the efficiency of the enterprise or organization, because the funds will be used economically unreasonable – as resources for the support of Kadyrov's regime," said the expert.
