Figurants of "Million Mask March" case stop hunger strike in support of Kyuregyan

Shant Arutyunyan, the leader of the Armenian "Tsegakron" Party, and the retired Lieutenant Colonel Vardan Vardanyan stopped their protest, following the activist Yke Kyuregyan, whose demands were satisfied on January 22.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 22, after being transferred to a solitary cell, Yke Kyuregyan announced the termination of his hunger strike.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed today at the penitentiary department of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) of Armenia that Shant Arutyunyan and Vardan Vardanyan followed Kyuregyan and stopped their protest action.

The spokesman of the press service of the MoJ noted that the state of health of Arutyunyan and Vardanyan is satisfactory.

Let us remind you that in October 2014 Shant Arutyunyan was found guilty, among other participants of the "Million Mask March", of hooliganism and was sentenced to six years in prison. Vardan Vardanyan was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison for taking part in the action.
