Volgograd: boy beaten up by adopter is under doctors' care

The boy, who was allegedly beaten up by an Italian citizen-his adopter, is in hospital with a suspected brain concussion. His condition is satisfactory; no mental traumas have been revealed.

The incident occurred on March 31 at about 6:00 p.m. Moscow time in front of the Investigating Department (ID) for the Volgograd Region of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF); and Mikhail Muzraev, the head of the Department, was a witness thereof, said Natalia Kunitskaya, a senior assistant for relations with mass media to the head of the ID of the ICRF for the region.

"Our boss saw a man beating up a child; he brought them into the Department, called the police, the guardianship bodies, and the Ombudsperson for Children's Rights. They all arrived, and launched checks within their powers," Natalia Kunitskaya told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

On the same day a decision was issued of the guardianship body to take the child away from the adopter because of a threat to his life and health, said Nina Boldyreva, the Ombudsperson for Children's Rights in the Volgograd Region.

According to her story, the adopter explained his behaviour by the fact that at crossing the road the child disobeyed him.
