Maxim Panfilov's advocate challenges arrest of his client in "case of Bolotnaya Square"

The defence has filed an appeal against the court's decision on the arrest of Maxim Panfilov, a resident of Astrakhan, accused of involvement in the mass riot in Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012. This was reported by his advocate Sergey Panchenko.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning of April 7, 30-year-old Maxim Panfilov was detained on suspicion of involvement in the mass riot in Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012. He was taken to Moscow by plane, where he was charged under Part 1 of Article 318 (use of violence against a public officer) and Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (involvement in mass riots). On April 8, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow pronounced the decision to arrest Maxim Panfilov until May 7.

Sergey Panchenko has reported that on April 11, the defence has filed an appeal against the Maxim Panfilov's arrest. The advocate has also added that in the appeal, he asks the court to cancel the resolution on the Maxim Panfilov's arrest and pronounce the pre-trial restriction measure in the form of recognizance not to leave or personal guarantee, the "Agency of Moscow" reports.
