In Sochi, family of Olympic settlers with many children sues City Mayor
In Sochi, the family, which faces the eviction on the street with minor children out of the house, included in the reserve housing fund of the city administration, has sued Anatoly Pakhomov, Mayor of Sochi. According to the plaintiffs, the Mayor's actions contradict the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
In accordance with the resolution signed by Enofik Varvashtyan, the bailiff of the Central District of Sochi, Tatiana and Fyodor D., together with their five- and nine-year-old children and a six-month-old infant, are to move out of the two-room apartment in the house of the reserve housing fund in Labour Street until May 15.
The spouses told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on March 18, 2016, they appealed to Anatoly Pakhomov, Sochi City Mayor, with a request to settle the case amicably and to provide them with social housing. Anatoly Pakhomov redirected their appeal to Vladimir Permyakov, the chief of the Department of Sochi Property Relations, who met the spouses on April 11. However, the meeting produced no results.
According to Vladimir Permyakov, he is not competent to solve the problems of the family, the decision on which eviction was pronounced by the court.
In their administrative lawsuit, the spouses claim that they face death threat without a shelter.
According to Leonid Erchenko, an advocate of the Sochi branch of the Moscow City Bar Association "Delo", the status of the reserve housing fund involves eviction of people with the provision of another permanent housing. The advocate has added that the status of a family with many children, including an infant, provides the family with the right to benefits.
