Eleven Azerbaijani villages de-energized as a result of shelling

Starting late evening of April 26 and throughout the whole last night, the city of Terter and front-line village were again shelled, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Terter district administration.

As a result of the shelling, private houses were damaged: three houses in the village of Askipara, and one house in each of the villages of Yukhary, Gapanly, Seidimli and Gaziyan.

Besides, one of the shells exploded near electrical substation damaging it. As a result, 11 villages have been de-energized.

According to a source from the Terter administration, shelling creates problems for agricultural works.

"Because of regular shelling of arable land, local residents can't start seeding, because dozens of acres of land were attacked by a large number of shells; some of them may remain unexploded," said the source, noting that currently places of shell falls are established in order to start neutralizing them.

Also today, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has blamed Armenia of shelling dwelling areas prohibited with internationally banned shell types.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone was escalated. The parties to the conflict were engaged in combat actions with the use of tanks, multiple launch rocket systems, and aircrafts, which resulted in a large number of victims. On April 5, the sides to the conflict declared a truce; however, they periodically accuse each other of violation of agreements on ceasefire.
