Resident of Kabardino-Balkaria accused of shadowing law enforcers
According to investigators, a resident of Baksan was engaged in watching the movements of law enforcers by order of militant Ruslan Goplachev. The criminal case of suspected accomplice of militants was sent to the court.
According to the Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), a 22-year-old resident of Baksan is accused of aiding and abetting militants.
"In 2013-2014, by order of Ruslan Goplachev, a then wanted member of an illegal armed formation (IAF) operating in the territory of the Baksan District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), the defendant was engaged in watching law enforcers and reported militants the information about the routes of law enforcers' movement," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an official from the ICRF's Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria.
According to the investigator, the defendant also gave Ruslan Goplachev 38,000 roubles "for the purpose of financial support of the IAF's activities." "Furthermore, the defendant received from Ruslan Goplachev and illegally stored at home ammunition, explosive devices, and a narcotic substance," reported the official from the ICRF's Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria.
On May 18, 2014, Ruslan Goplachev and two other militants were killed during a special operation carried out in the village of Dugulubgei of the Baksan District. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the killed men were involved in the killings of civilians and law enforcers, including three police officers.
