Advocate of Mardiros Demerchyan reports on inadmissible evidence in his client's case

Mardiros Demerchyan, a builder engaged in construction of Olympic facilities in Sochi, and his advocates started to examine the case of false denunciation against policemen. The defenders believe that the case includes the examination, which has no relation to the charge of false denunciation.

On June 12, 2013, Mardiros Demerchyan was detained in Sochi on suspicion of theft of building materials from an Olympic venue. According to the builder, at the police station, he was subjected to beatings and torture. Investigators refused to institute criminal proceedings on his complaint, and Mardiros Demerchyan was accused of false denunciation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 4, Mardiros Demerchyan underwent a forensic examination. According to the builder, the expert failed to carry out the inspections appointed by the investigators' resolution, and a dentist was the only specialist involved in the examination, although the investigators' resolution contained no request to involve a dentist.

Advocate Alexander Boichenko has reported that the case includes the materials relating to the charge of theft. According to the advocate, the defence will file a request to exclude the above mentioned examination as inadmissible evidence of the fact of theft of a cable from the construction site committed by Mardiros Demerchyan.
