Permyakov’s colleagues refuse to attend the trial

Four already demobilized fellow-servicemen of Valery Permyakov have refused to attend the sessions of the court, which considers his case of massacring a family in Gyumri. According to the advocate Lusine Sahakyan, the testimonies of these soldiers, given during the preliminary investigation, were read out at the trial.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Permyakov’s trial began in the territory of the 102nd Russian Military Base in Gyumri in December 2015. On March 11, the court announced the completion of the questioning of witnesses and began to study the case materials.

All the above four witnesses reported Permyakov’s peaceful, conflict-free nature, said the advocate Lusine Sahakyan, who is representing the successors’ interests.

According to her story, one of the witnesses – Alexander Kuznetsov, – who had been familiar with the convict back in the city of Chita, Permyakov was never inclined to share his family or service problems.

Kuznetsov was transferred from Chita to Armenia together with Permyakov. On the day of the crime, Kuznetsov was also on duty with Permyakov; however, he noticed nothing strange in Permyakov’s behaviour.

On that day, the witness Nikolai Zhdanov was also on duty at the post and did not notice anything suspicious in Permyakov’s behaviour.
