In Makhachkala, law enforcers carry out mass detention of believers of Salafi mosque

On May 13, in the capital of Dagestan, in the course of a raid, law enforcers detained at least 20 believers of the Salafi mosque. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" by local residents.

Local residents were detained at the exit of the mosque by people in civilian clothes and in police uniform, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by one of the eyewitnesses.

According to him, all the believers brought to the police station were released by the end of the day of May 13. "It was a standard check of the bases. The persons not registered at the police station were registered this time," said the eyewitness.

At least 30 people were detained, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Magomed A., a believer of the mosque.

"The police took away a full bus of believers: at least 30 people were sitting inside it. The policemen were detained everyone and explained that they were carrying out a raid," Magomed has said.

The law enforcers drove the bus to the mosque yet prior to the start of the Friday prayer and parked it on a nearby street. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Idris Yusupov, a journalist of the "Novoe Delo", who witnessed the incident.
