Astrakhan court sentences Stenin to two years in colony

Igor Stenin, the head of the movement "Russians of Astrakhan", has been found guilty of public calls to extremism, and sentenced to two years in a colony-settlement. He intends to appeal against the verdict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 4 the prosecution asked two years of colony-settlement for Stenin.

Igor Stenin was accused of propagation, in the social network, of calls to extremism (Part 2, Article 280 of the Russian Criminal Code). On February 8, one of the administrators of the group "Russians of Astrakhan" in the social network "VKontakte" said that he had testified against Stenin under pressure.

Let us remind you that on October 21, 2015, the Sovietsky District Court of Astrakhan found Stenin guilty of distributing extremist materials and fined him by 1000 roubles. He was charged with posting in 2012, in his page on the "VKontakte", of a video clip, which was recognized as an extremist one.
