Relatives of arrested Ingush resident demand his medical examination
Investigators refuse to appoint a medical examination for Lecho Gadamauri, a resident of Ingushetia, who is being kept at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Vladikavkaz. This was stated by his relatives and his advocate.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that family members of Lecho Gadamauri, a resident of the town of Sunzha, appealed for help to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" and claimed he is being tortured and beaten by law enforcers.
According to Elizaveta Gadamauri, the mother of the arrested Ingush resident, her son was kidnapped in the town of Sunzha on June 8. According to the woman, "on the third day, at about 2:00 a.m., she was phoned by an investigator of the FSB Department for Ingushetia," who informed her that her son was kept at the FSB.
On June 11, according to Elizaveta Gadamauri, she saw her son at the court session held to pronounce the pre-trial restriction measure. "His eyes were red as if he had not slept for several nights. His right leg was covered by a kind of abrasions and cuts. I moved away a collar of his jacket and saw bruises and deep abrasions. Lecho himself could not say anything reasonable," states Elizaveta Gadamauri.
According to advocate Magomed Tochiev, representing the interests of Gadamauri, he "has filed a motion to the investigator's name to subject Lecho Gadamauri to a medical examination."
"The investigator has refused me in appointing a medical examination. I have filed complaints about the investigator's refusal to the prosecutor and the chief of the investigating department," said Magomed Tochiev. He has also noted that he had not yet received any answer to his appeals.
