On June 20-26, 2016, nobody fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week of June 20-26, 2016, no one fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
Explosions and terror acts
On June 22, it was reported on a fire which occurred in an educational building of the secondary school in the village of Teletl in the Shamil District of Dagestan. No one was injured. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies, the school was set on fire by six members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), including I. Amirov, G. Magomedov, members of the "Shamil" grouping, and two brothers M. Mirzoev and S. Mirzoev. The identification of two other criminals is underway.
Detentions
On June 8, 2016, in the town of Sunzha in Ingushetia, Lechi Gadamauri, a local resident, was kidnapped at the intersection of Mozdok and Dzerzhinsky Streets. This was reported by his relatives. Two days later, it was found out that Lechi Gadamauri was detained by law enforcers and charged with illegal possession of weapons and ammunition and involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF). His relatives visited him and saw him in serious condition: his body bore signs of torture with electric current. The advocate of Lechi Gadamauri appealed to the law enforcers with a request to subject his client to a medical examination. However, the advocate's request was dismissed.
On June 22, hundreds of people from the village of Shamkhal gathered in front of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Dagestan in Makhachkala. The people protested against the change of the Imam of the village mosque. According to the law enforcement bodies, the police tried to disperse the rally; however, some believers started to fight with policemen. Five persons were detained and brought to the Soviet ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala, reports one of the protestors. Officials from the ROVD did not confirm the information about the detention of believers.
On June 22, law enforcers detained a resident of Ingushetia on suspicion of involvement in a criminal grouping engaged in selling weapons. The whereabouts of two other accomplices are to be revealed. According to the police, in December 2015, the suspects sold to a prearranged buyer two home-assembled pistols, one of which was equipped with a silencer, and in March 2016, they concluded two similar transactions and sold a pistol and a Kalashnikov submachine gun. On June 22, during the searches in the houses of the suspects, law enforcers seized ammunition for submachine guns.
