Nine persons hospitalized after riots in Sukhumi

As a result of the riots that took place on July 5 in Sukhumi, 17-19 people were injured. Of them, nine persons were hospitalized. This was announced by Abkhazian President Raul Khadjimba, who visited the republican hospital.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 5, in Sukhumi, supporters of the opposition held a rally. In the course of the rally, the protestors have three times attempted to assault the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). According to the reports, the protestors used Molotov cocktails, and one of the participants of the protest action was hospitalized.

During his visit to the hospital, Raul Khadjimba told reporters that in total, as a result of the riots in Sukhumi, 19 people were brought to health care facilities. Of them, 10 were sent home after obtaining the medical aid, the "Interfax" reports.
