Political analysts doubt ability of newcomers to strengthen "Georgian Dream" Party

15 candidates for the parliamentary elections nominated by the "Georgian Dream" Party are not well-known to the public, and they do not have political experience and their own voters. This was stated by political interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

The elections to the Georgian Parliament are scheduled for October 8, 2016, and the election campaign was launched on June 8.

On July 13, the "Georgian Dream" Party introduced 15 new nominees to the Parliament. Their number includes foreign graduates, lawyers, officials of the executive authorities, and businessmen.

The potential of those 15 persons is much higher than that of MPs, well-known to the public; however, they will have to answer a number of uncomfortable questions. This was noted by Nika Chitadze, the leader of the "Centre for Security Studies and International Relations".

According to him, the newcomers should gain experience, and then it is possible that they will have the chance to take a worthy place among Georgian politicians.

The political analyst doubts that the new party faces will be eligible for decision-making, "given the informal ruling of the Party by Bidzina Ivanishvili, the former Prime Minister and the founder of the Party."

According to Tornike Sharashenidze, an expert of the "International Centre for Geopolitical Studies", it was a political mistake to introduce new people during the election period. The expert believes the newcomers need a kind of "advertising", and the Party has too little time for that.
