Zhirair Sefilyan voices his willingness to negotiate with rebels
Zhirair Sefilyan, the leader of the movement "100 years without regime", arrested on suspicion of organizing illegal transportation and storage of weapons, has offered his mediation in the negotiations with members of the group "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sassoun), who seized the building of the patrol-and-security service of the police regiment in Yerevan. Zhirair Sefilyan has voiced his offer through his advocate Ara Zakaryan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 17, supporters of the "Constituent Parliament" seized the building of the patrol-and-security service regiment of the police in Yerevan. During the seizure of the building, one policeman was killed, and other six persons were injured.
Zhirair Sefilyan believes that his involvement in the negotiations will bring only positive outcomes. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Ara Zakaryan. In particular, according to the advocate, Zhirair Sefilyan excludes bloodshed.
At present, the negotiations are being held by Vitaly Balasanyan, an MP of the National Assembly of Karabakh. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Alek Enigomshyan, a member of the "Constituent Parliament". "The progress of the negotiations between members of the 'Sasna Tsrer' with the authorities may be predicted by the today's statement made by President Serzh Sargsyan, who called on the rebels to lay down their arms," the oppositionist said.
Alek Enigomshyan has refused to disclose the details of the negotiations held by Vitaly Balasanyan with the members of the armed group "Sasna Tsrer".
