Power agents specify date of Kazimagomedov's murder
Kamaldin Kazimagomedov, the head of the "southern" grouping of militants was killed during a special operation on July 29, not in May this year, said a Dagestani law enforcement source.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 26, in the village of Kasumkent, Suleiman-Stalsky District, policemen tried to stop a suspicious man and check his documents, but he opened fire, and was shot dead by response fire. Then, a law enforcement source said that the casualty was pre-identified as Kamaldin Kazimagomedov, a 26-year-old resident of the village of Ashagastal.
On July 29, the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reported the death of Kamaldin Kazimagomedov, an alleged leader of the "southern" grouping of militants. He was killed "between the dwelling settlements of Yukhari-Stal and Kurkent of the Suleiman-Stalsky District."
According to the source, Kazimagomedov was found "in the forested mountainous area during a special operation to search for suspected militants in the Suleiman-Stalsky District area."
"He was armed, and, when he rejected the offer to surrender and opened fire, he was shot dead by response fire," said the source.
He drew attention to the fact that on May 26 "information appeared about neutralization of the leader of the 'southern' grouping Kazimagomedov". "However, the identification of the casualty as Kazimagomedov was not confirmed; and a DNA assay was appointed to identify the body," said the source.
