Russians demand Medvedev’s resignation after his answer to Dagestani’s question
A total of 82,628 signatures have been put to the petition demanding resignation of Prime Minister of Russia, who explained low salaries of Dagestani teachers by their own personal choice.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 2, at the National Youth Educational Forum "Territory of Sense on Klyazma", Gadji Kurbanov, a teacher of the Dagestan State University, complained to the Russian Premier about teachers’ low salaries. In response, Dmitri Medvedev said that there are other ways of earning money and offered disgruntled teachers to go into businesses.
The above petition to President of Russia with a demand to dismiss Premier Medvedev was posted today on the website of the “Change.org petitions online”. The author of the petition is Alexander Lee, a resident of Moscow.
He writes in his explanation that "the person advising teachers to earn money somehow and somewhere in order to survive should not head the Cabinet.”
As of 8:30 p.m. Moscow time on August 4, the petition demanding Dmitri Medvedev's resignation gathered 82,628 signatures.
The Kremlin is not yet acquainted with the petition for the resignation; and the reaction to it will depend on the petition’s nature, Dmitri Peskov, the President’s press-secretary, has stated today in his turn.
