Dagestani election commission refuses to register Maxim Shevchenko

Maxim Shevchenko, a self-nominated candidate running for a seat in the Russian State Duma from Dagestan, has been denied of registration under the pretext that the dates in the signatures lists in support were written by the same person.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the voting at the elections to the State Duma will be held on the single day of voting of September 18, 2016. The elections will be held under a mixed system: 225 deputies will be elected from party lists, and 225 others from single-mandate precincts, three in Dagestan.

7% of the signatures in support of Maxim Shevchenko were rejected with the explanation of "mismatch of the dates in the submitted signature sheets." The candidate treats the refusal as unjustified, the "Sobesednik" reports.

The signatures were verified by the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Earlier, the MIA's experts have found similar violations in the signature lists of self-nominated Magomed Orudjev and Farida Sagitaeva, as well as Shafi Akushali, a candidate from the "Party of Parents of Future".

The essence of the claim is in the fact that although the signatures are authentic, the dates of the signatures lists are written by the same person post factum, although supporters of the candidates were to write down the date by their own, the "Chernovik" (Draft) reports.
