Nagorno-Karabakh declares its readiness to further aggravation in conflict zone

During the past day, the Azerbaijani armed forces have violated the ceasefire 40 times. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the MoD, the number of incidents on the contact line decreased by 2-3 times in comparison with the same period of 2015; however, the MoD's officials expect new escalations of the conflict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the parties to the Karabakh conflict regularly accuse each other of violation of the armistice signed on April 5.

According to the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD, during the past day, the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire 40 times and made more than 370 shots at the Karabakh positions from small arms. This was reported by a Nagorno-Karabakh MoD's press officer.

On August 11, Levon Mnatsakanyan, Minister of Defence of Nagorno-Karabakh, declared that the situation on the contact line of the armed forces after the April escalation of the conflict can be described as "relatively calm."

Meanwhile, he has noted that "the Defence Army is ready to counter aggression of Azerbaijan."

During the April escalation of the conflict, the Defence Army has fulfilled its task, the Nagorno-Karabakh Minister of Defence has clarified. According to him, despite the lost positions, "the combat readiness of the Defence Army is not affected in any way."
