NAC: Zalim Shebzukhov killed in special operation in Saint Petersburg
Zalim Shebzukhov, one of the leaders of North-Caucasian militants, was killed during a special operation in Saint Petersburg, said the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this morning, in the high-rise building at 92-3 Leninsky Avenue in Saint Petersburg, power agents conducted a special operation, resulting in four killed militants, said the ICRF.
According to the "Fontanka" newspaper, power agents from Saint Petersburg have conducted the operation on the commission of special services of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR). According to the paper, the operation could be a result of the murder on August 14 of Khizir Likhov, one of the leaders of the KBR's armed underground. Law enforcers received information that members of Likhov's grouping were hiding in Saint Petersburg, sources of the newspaper had stated.
According to the NAC, Zalim Shebzukhov was killed in the today's operation. "Three of those killed have been pre-identified as Zalim Shebzukhov, born in 1986; Astemir Sheriev, born in 1991, and Vyacheslav Nyrov, born in 1982; all the three were on the federal wanted list headed the terrorist thugs acting on the territory of the KBR. They had been directly involved in a number of resonant terrorist crimes, including attempts on the life of law enforcers and prosecutors," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the NAC's message.
Let us remind you that on April 16, 2015, the NAC announced that Zalim Shebzukhov was killed in a special operation in Nalchik. Later, the NAC refuted this information, stating that another militant was killed – Zaur Prokopchuk.
