NAC reports names of attackers on DPS checkpoint killed near Nalchik

The men killed in Nartan were involved in the attack on inspectors of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) on August 14, during which the police killed by return fire Khizir Likhov, one of the leaders of the armed underground. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, two men were killed in a special operation in the outskirts of Nalchik. The killed men were identified as Alim Bitokov and Ibragim Gugov. According to law enforcers, they were hiding in a dugout and were killed after their refusal to surrender.

Apart from submachine guns, ammunition and grenades, law enforcers discovered in the dugout clothes, personal hygiene items, and other things. Thus, it may be concluded that the killed men lived there for a long time, reports the Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

Let us remind you that on August 14, according to the NAC, the attack on the DPS checkpoint was led by Khizir Likhov, who was on the wanted list since October, 2014. The attack involved three other persons who managed to escape. According to a source, that was the third time when the law enforcement bodies recognized Khizir Likhov as killed. In the summer of 2015 and in January 2016, the reports on his murder were not confirmed.
