"Mothers of Beslan" claim police incompetence in suppressing September 1 action

Members of the committee "Mothers of Beslan" have declared that they have no relation to the action held by the social movement "Voice of Beslan". The activists emphasized that they understand the motives that guided the participants of the action, but the committee "Mothers of Beslan" does not agree with the methods of the "Voice of Beslan". Meanwhile, according to the committee "Mothers of Beslan", the police actions against the detained women cannot be treated as correct and professional.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 1, in Beslan, the police detained five women who came to the protest action, dressed in T-shirts with the accusations against the President of Russia. Svetlana Margieva, Ella Kesaeva and Emilia Bzarova were sentenced to 20 hours of public works.

According to the statement made by the committee "Mothers of Beslan", the law enforcement bodies did not expect the action of the women from the social movement "Voice of Beslan" and "reacted as usually in such cases."

Members of the committee "Mothers of Beslan" have also stated that they did not agree with the slogan, voiced by the women involved in the action and called it "provocative".

According to their statement, the activists of the committee "Mothers of Beslan" believe that in case if the President "would have demanded from his subordinates to conduct an objective investigation and announced the names of the officials who had actually betrayed him, the incident would most likely not occur."
