During the week of September 12-18, 2016, no one fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Special and counterterrorist operations

In the evening of September 14, law enforcers cancelled the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime, introduced in August in the Karabudakhkent and Buynaksk Districts of Dagestan. On August 17, the CTO legal regime was introduced in the Buynaksk District and within a part of the Karabudakhkent District. On August 27, the CTO legal regime was introduced within the whole territory of the Karabudakhkent District.

On September 15, the CTO legal regime was lifted in four districts of Dagestan, including the Derbent, Tabasaran, Khiv, and Magaramkent Districts. All activities to search and detain members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) are completed.

Detentions

On September 12, the police offered a resident of Vladikavkaz to voluntarily surrender ammunition, stored, according to the information of law enforcers, by him at home. The man claimed that he did not possess anything illegal; however, officers of the criminal investigation department searched his house and seized a hand grenade and two fuses from a hallway closet.
