Woman from Grozny reports kidnapping of her son
Anzor Saraliev, who came from Germany to visit his family in Chechnya, was kidnapped by power agents on September 12 during Kurban Bayram, said his mother.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Chechnya, during Kurban Bayram, policemen began flat-by-flat visits and passport check. Law enforcers explained these activities by preparations for the elections in the republic.
On September 21, Sanet Abdurzukova, a resident of Grozny, turned to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" with an application about the kidnapping of her son Anzor Saraliev, born in 1976. Since 1996 he lives in Germany, where he has a residence permit. He is married; and they have seven children. For several years, Anzor was annually visiting his mother in Chechnya; this year he arrived on September 1.
On September 12, when Sanet Abdurzukova went to visit her sister, her son was taken away by armed men in a car, who said that they were "from drug control" and they would release Saraliev after questioning, the applicant wrote. Since then, there was no information on the whereabouts of her son.
A criminal case on Saraliev's kidnapping has not been initiated yet.
