Yerevan: author of video on rally dispersal complains to police about damage to his car

Sargis Kharazyan, the chief cameraman of the photography agency "Civinet", has filed to the police a complaint about the damage inflicted to his car by unidentified persons. The journalist associates the incident with the publication of his video record depicting the dispersal of protesters in the Sari Tag District on July 29.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 29, law enforcers dispersed a march in support of the rebels who seized the police regiment building in Yerevan. Then, 55 demonstrators and four policemen were hospitalized, and journalists also suffered in the dispersal of the action.

Sargis Kharazyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that at night of September 30, unidentified people punctured tires and shattered windows of his car.

The journalist associates the incident with his professional activities. According to his story, his car was damaged in revenge for his publication of the video depicting the dispersal of protesters in the Sari Tag District on July 29.

"The video captured people in civilian clothes, who used batons to beat journalists and protesters. The fact that nothing was stolen from my car proves it was a warning," the journalist believes.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the press service of the Armenian Police that the preliminary investigation on the incident with the Sargis Kharazyan's car is underway.
